SENIOR FINANCE & COMPLIANCE EXECUTIVE

This is a great opportunity for a highly regarded professional looking to play a leading role in a boutique investment company. Ashington’s focus is on strategic SME investment, business advisory services and property investment/development.

 

Person Specification

This is a role for an experienced senior finance executive, comfortable dealing with a fast growing company, assist in building a new brand and to help guide the company through the next exciting phase of growth.

 

Job Specification

Reporting to the CEO, you will have wide reaching responsibility over compliance, financial planning and control, investor relations, company secretarial duties, corporate finance and direct and in direct tax planning. This is a top to bottom role, being very hands on. It demands strong technical skills, a broad systems understanding and a willingness to lead from the front as well as role modeling the company values and approach to leadership. Highly skilled in the interpretation of monthly reports, balance sheets, profit & loss statements. Additional responsibilities include budgeting, advising on commercial issues, developing and managing compliance processes and policies, liaising and negotiating with external parties, and assessing and implementing systems.

The successful candidate will be comfortable maintaining financial control whilst managing other projects. It is important that you will be capable of thinking strategically whilst challenging and supporting the thoughts and ideas of the senior management team. Significant experience with an SME entrepreneurial growth business will be amongst the likely attributes of the successful candidate. Property experience will be an advantage. On a personal level the position requires exceptional leadership skills and competence to build a reputation of trust and values for internal and external stakeholders.

 

Overall

To be successful in this position you will need to be a well organised individual, possess strong communication skills, attention to detail as well as an ability and desire to work in a small business environment.

Applicants must be tertiary qualified, CPA/CA qualified, results orientated, experience in a similar role and have managerial experience.
