| This Privacy Policy applies to Ashington Group Holdings Pty Ltd and all its subsidiaries and associated (“Ashington”). The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 was passed by the federal government to extend the operation of the Privacy Act 1988 to the private sector and introduced a set of National Privacy Principles that govern how private sector organisations should collect, use, store and disclose personal information. These new federal privacy laws affecting businesses in the private sector commenced operation on 21 December 2001.
Ashington is a South Australian-based investor of private equity and property and a business and property advisory company. In the process of running our business we handle, collect, process, records, store and disclose personal information relating to purchases, and potential purchasers. This Privacy Policy explains how Ashington complies with the National Privacy Principles for the protection of personal information, as set out in the Privacy Act and any other relevant law.

What personal information does Ashington collect? |

Ashington collects personal information from several sources some of these include professional advisors, investors, potential investors and investees, employees, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors amongst other.
Most of Ashington’s personal information recorded relates to existing and potential investment and/or purchases. Our records with respect to these investment and/or purchases will generally include contact details, job description, details of transactions with Ashington including information about their interest in our products and/or investment.
Under the Privacy Act 1988, certain types of personal information are regarded as sensitive and must be treated with a higher standard of care. This includes information relating to health or religious beliefs. Ashington does not normally collect this kind of information, unless a person provides it for a specific purpose, for example because it is related to a particular product that Ashington provides. |
How Ashington handles your personal information? |

We do not disclose any Personal Information that we hold on you to any third party, except where you have given your consent for us to do so or where we are required by law to do so.

Accessing and Updating your Personal Information |

Ashington ensures every reasonable effort to keep any Personal Information up to date and accurate. If you require access to any Personal Information that we hold on you, change any inaccurate or out of date personal information or you would like us to delete your Personal Information from our records, please contact the Privacy Officer either via mail, GPO Box 2870, Adelaide SA 5001 or email admin@ashington.com.au. Please allow 28 days for this request to be processed.
On request your information will be made available to you within 14 days. In some cases Ashington may need to impose a charge for providing access to personal information. This charge reflects the administrative cost of finding this information and providing it to you.

Deleting the information Ashington has about you |

If you request that your personal information be deleted, in the manner described in “Accessing and Updating your Personal Information” above, Ashington will take all reasonable steps to delete it unless it is needed for legal reasons. Personal information may also be retained in certain files in order to resolve disputes or for auditing purposes. In addition, personal information is never completely removed from our database due to technical and legal constraints, including stored “back up” systems. Therefore, purchasers should not expect that all of their personal information will be completely removed from database in response to their request. |
